Gold, a transition metal is one of the least chemically reactive elements. Its crystals at scales smaller than 100 nanometers start to demonstrate fascinating size and shape-dependent optical properties, which have led to their applications in a multitude of areas including nanomedicine, contrast agents for biological imaging, sensing, catalysis and electro-optical devices. In addition to classic gold spherical particles, in the past decade gold nanocrystals with exotic shapes have been prepared including nanorods, nanoprisms, nanocubes, nanocages, etc.
At NanoRods, LLC using proprietary growth technologies, gold nanorods are grown in verity of sizes and volumes. The level of shape impurity is so low in the as prepared batches that there is no need for separation or filtration protocols.
Our mission is to meet the current demands of the industry and academia and speed up the development of nanorod-based products.
Gold nanorods are dispersable in aqueous and non-aqeous solvents.

Storage:
These products are known to be stable for a minimum of one year after opening. Temperatures for storage, after opening, can vary from 4-8°C (39-46°F) to room temperature depending on whether the application is diagnostic or research oriented. The colloid is not stable on boiling or freezing. When storing the product below 8°C (46°F) it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that their refrigerator can maintain a constant temperature in the range noted above.

DIMENSION OF NANORODS
Typically depends on the aspect ratio. Our standard size is between 10 nm to 24nm,(98% of the population falls within ±3 nm of the mean value).
Our standard length ranges from 30 nm to 100 nm (98% of the population falls within 5 nm of the
mean value).
Aspect ratio of a nanorod is its length divided by its width. This ratio is very helpful in specifying the optical properties of nanorods.
CONCENTRATION:
Gold nanorods are dispersed in aqueous solution. The concentration of nanorods can be customized upon request. Our standard concentration range varies from 0.1 - 10 microgram/ ml (about 1 nanomolar to 250 nM or more).
SHAPE UNIFORMITY:
Our gold nanorods have a high purity. The concentration of undesired shapes is below 2%.
AVAILABLE OPTICAL DENSITIES (ODs):
We offer nanorod solutions with any desired concentrations with ODs ranging from 1 to 100 or more.
